2014 Field Reliability Report

Quartzdyne Pressure Sensor ReliabilityWe track our field reliability by recording failure modes and year shipped for each returned transducer. Each year we analyze the findings for trends, and share the results openly on our webpage. This report describes the general design of a Quartzdyne pressure transducer, and provides the reliability statistics and common failure modes for each of the major components.

NEW: 1/2” Quartz Pressure Transducer

We are excited to announce the introduction of the world’s smallest resonant quartz pressure transducer. The ½” Transducer was designed for applications that require high accuracy and precision pressure measurements with tight space requirements. It includes a better transient error response, autoclave and weldable-face pressure porting, and digital or analog options. Please contact us for more information.  Available June 2014.

New Website

We are delighted to launch our newly redesigned website. This new website includes an updated framework which gives us flexibility to quickly add important content and updates so we can ensure our customers have all the information they need to successfully implement and use our product. Upcoming Product Launch: xHPHT Transducers

The need to look beyond conventional sources of oil and gas is an increasing reality of the industry. This growing need is driving demand for precision quartz transducers capable of pressures and temperatures beyond what is already considered to be high pressure and high temperature. In response to the industry’s need, Quartzdyne has developed a proprietary quartz technology that enables the pressure transducers to perform in extremely high pressure and temperatures environments. Using that technology, Quartzdyne will soon be launching transducers rated for 35,000 psia and 225 °C. Quartzdyne is also targeting 40,000 psia and 260 °C for the next phase of development. Contact us now so you can be ready when we move to release.

Message from the President

In my 21 years at Quartzdyne, I can’t recall a time when we’ve been developing more new products simultaneously. Our longest tenured employee (31 years) recently remarked, “It’s like the good old days again, when we were an R&D shop!” We are currently working on eight (8) new products! It’s a mix of core product innovations (½”, xHPHT, Saqqara), custom integration products, and several products that don’t measure pressure at all. A few of the projects have dedicated and co-located teams to improve their focus and communication.

We appreciate your candid feedback on how we’re doing and what improvements are needed. One continuing hallmark of Quartzdyne will be our transparency on in-house testing and field failures that drive continuous improvement into the product.
